Salary £30,922 - £32,755 pa Plus up to £5,000 per annum market supplement

Our client is a Further Education College offering a wide range of courses to over 5000 full time students and over 5650 part time students each year. The college currently works with over 50 high school partners, welcoming students from Bury and the surrounding areas.

Joining them as a Departmental Lead - Engineering and Electrical, you will lead on a portfolio of apprenticeship courses, including Electrical Installation and Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, with a focus on co-ordinating and improving the quality of provision and outcomes for learners, including timely achievement.

Innovating and sharing good practice in teaching learning and assessment, you will monitor and support at risk apprentices and lead assessment and internal verification to meet awarding body requirements, including taking on Lead IV responsibilities where appropriate.

Monitoring and maintaining online assessment records and being a champion for the use of OneFile and progress tracking, you will collaborate with staff across college on Apprenticeship programme components, including English and maths and coordinate the development of resources for curriculum delivery, including staff, rooming, physical materials and VLE content. In addition, you will manage a reduced caseload of learners, monitoring apprentices progress and updating college central data collection systems promptly.

Candidates for this role must hold a strong qualification portfolio in a relevant area of curriculum and you must have experience of team leadership and of successful assessing. With an understanding of the needs of apprentices in the curriculum area and the ability to analyse statistics in order to improve performance, you must hold both a full assessing and teaching qualification and a background of implementing improvements in a learning environment.

Due to the field based nature of the role, you must hold a full driving licence, have the use of a car and be willing to travel within the Greater Manchester region.
