Overview of the IS Administrator / IT Technician

We require an enthusiastic IT technician who is looking to develop their core IT skills, working in a small highly skilled team supporting the IT infrastructure in both office and manufacturing environments.

Key Tasks/Responsibilities for the IS Administrator / IT Technician

  • The first level IT support and training of end-users
  • Routine maintenance of IT equipment in office and manufacturing environments
  • Building and configuration of IT hardware
  • Utilising an IT service desk tool to log and process calls.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience necessary for the IS Administrator / IT Technician

Skills and experience required:

  • 2 years working in an IT technical support role or an IT college course
  • Excellent desktop and users support skills
  • Advanced use of Microsoft Office applications
  • Basic understanding of networking fundamentals
  • Basic active directory administration skills
  • Experience in a high quality, high volume, lean-production environment an advantage

Qualifications could include:

  • HNC/HND in Computing
  • A+ CompTIA Certification
  • ITIL
  • City and Guilds IT Certification

Skills, Behaviours and Attributes desirable for the IS Administrator / IT Technician

These should include:

  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Organised and able to manage their own time and workload
  • Flexible and open to change with a 'can do' attitude
  • The ability to work with diversified teams

Additional details for the IS Administrator / IT Technician

Based in Cannock but will be required to travel intermittently to other UK sites; driving licence preferred

39 hours basic. Monday - Friday. Must have a flexible approach to working hours as extra hours and weekends will be required on occasion.
