The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring material availability for projects within the business. Working with suppliers to negotiate cost, lead times and involvement in supplier rationalisation to reduce supply base. Working with teams internally to review and improve quality issues as well as supplier selection and capacity constraints.
My client is a global manufacturing business with an opportunity to join their purchasing team based in Southampton.
Take a steering role in the local supply chain team on projects as well as actively contributing in day to day operational buying
Establish and maintain relationships with the supplier portfolio in consultation with strategic procurement, engineers and operations
Drive continuous improvements within the supply base and deliver cost reduction and quality improvements
Monitor, drive and improve KPIs and feedback to global operations
The successful candidate should be CIPs qualified and have a relevant degree. Past experience in a procurement role within a manufacturing environment sourcing electrical or mechanical components. An individual who works well within a fast paced environment while continuing to drive improvements within the supply chain to improve, cost, quality and delivery for material into the business.
