We have an exciting opportunity for a Product Manager focusing on Risk & Compliance to join our Mortgages & Savings based in Leeds. The main purpose of the role is to design and maintain Mortgage & Savings policies and ensure all team activities are compliant with Group policy, law and regulations, through the delivery of new business processes, controls and information.
Your main duties and responsibilities are:
Policy Development:
  • Design and produce new Mortgage & Savings policy e.g. Lending Policy, Equity Release Policy, Fee Policy including responsibility for presentation and approval at Risk Committee.
  • Deliver updates to policy from periodic review or in response to regulatory or legal change
  • Ensure that all departmental procedures are fully documented and maintained.
  • Deliver input into Group wide policy, where required e.g. Product Governance Policy
  • Co-ordination, implementation and ongoing management of communications surrounding areas of policy.
  • Design and Implement Business Risk Change - In anticipation or response to regulatory or legal developments, the design and implementation of changes to Product features and functionality, Product rate and fees, Customer communications and Product and customer literature
Prudential and Conduct Risk Management:
  • Review risk limits and indicators proposed by the department, ensuring they are appropriate and have a logical and documented rationale
  • Co-ordination of new and ad-hoc risk work by the department e.g. Basis Risk analysis, Vulnerable customer review
  • Deliver detailed assessments required for ‘deep dive’ reviews e.g. Treatment of Equity Release customers
  • Responsibility for On-going Management of KFI’s and FSCS
  • Develop knowledge and skill to be the subject matter expert for KFI and FSCS requirements for the Group e.g. data and disclosure requirements
  • Responsibility for delivery of changes to systems, processes and data to ensure compliance is maintained by the Group
Fee Reviews:
  • Deliver annual review of mortgage and savings fees and gain approval through Risk Committee
  • Review and gain approval for interest rate loadings
  • In undertaking these reviews, balance the risk/reward return for the Group
The Knowledge & Skills you’ll have:
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and relationship management skills
  • Excellent paper writing skills and attention to detail
  • Experience of working within Financial Services Products, with Mortgage and/or Savings Product being desirable but not essential
  • Project Management skills and a proven track record of successful target delivery
  • Intermediate to advanced level of Excel skills
  • Educated to Degree Level would be desirable but not essential
