Globe Locums Ltd, the UK’s medical recruitment agency run by clinicians for clinicians, have the following Accounts Assistant Role to support at our Fleet Street, London office.

Main responsibilities

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with previous Accounts experience, to support our accounts/payroll department in the day-to-day accounts function involving purchase ledger duties. Responsibilities will include:

  • Account and analyse all cash receipts and payments
  • Purchase invoicing and processing outgoing payments
  • Monthly statement reconciliations
  • Process staff expenses claims
  • Assist with payments to subcontractors (via umbrella and limited entities)
  • Process weekly timesheets

Ideal candidate

As an Accounts Assistant, you will be working in a very busy and highly driven department. You will need:

  • Previous Accounts experience
  • To be a proactive and driven individual
  • To be a natural problem solver
  • Knowledge and understanding of VAT & associated documentation
  • A good understanding of general accounting functions, i.e., invoices, credit notes, payment advice etc
  • Knowledge and understanding of IR35 legislation
  • Previous experience working with timesheets
  • Recent experience within the Recruitment sector
  • Ability to adhere to strict deadlines

If you have previous knowledge and/or experience of Sage this will be a distinct advantage but not essential as training will be provided.

You will also need to have a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular, Excel
