Sales Development Executive – Engineering - Reading, Berks Area

This is a predominantly field based role with the main branch office being located in Hare Hatch, between Reading and Maidenhead on the A4

The Sales Development Executive is responsible for maintaining and building our relationships and business with existing Oakley EMS customers (Oakley EMS is a subsidiary of GTO Engineering) and at the same time expanding our customer base and business in supplying all areas of engineering and maintenance consumables and bespoke engineering and fabrication for the food manufacturing, agricultural, aerospace, automotive, defence, F1 and other industries. This will involve promoting and selling a range of products from bearings, belts and transmissions to chains, sprockets and safetywear as well as bespoke engineering services.

Key responsibilities include
• Advise customers on Oakley EMS products or services best suited to meet their needs
• Respond to, prepare and submit quotations in line with customers deadlines
• Provide access to catalogues/brochures and consult inventory records to advise on availability/ supply timelines of products or services
• Taking orders over the phone, via email or in person
• Pro-active follow-up of customers enquiries to build and generate profitable orders
• Track and progress chase incoming product orders and ensure customer’s expectations are met and managed
• Develop and maintain relationships with existing customers and acquire and build relationships with potential and new customers
• Support face-to-face customer visits, where required. This may involve handling deliveries.
• Maintain Oakley EMS customer database
• Plan and make calls to customers and potential customers in line with company business plans and campaigns
• Provide input to the business and financial planning process
• As Oakley EMS business develops and relocates to the Reading area, carry out research to identify potential customers in the target area .
• Carry out other tasks in support of Oakley EMS sales targets. This may involve a range of activities from proposing ways to develop and grow the business to trade counter and warehouse support as required
• Operate at all times in accordance Oakley EMS GTO’s health and safety standards.

Experience as sales representative or sales manager in a company supplying Engineering consumables and bespoke engineering to a broad range of retail, consumer goods , rail, automotive and aerospace industries
Ideally a background in customer service and sales, either in a consumables, industrial or engineering environment
