We are currently looking for a Programme Manager to join a global blue-chip consultancy within the IT industry.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced, growing organisation and to lead a number of technical programmes for clients across the cyber security, defence and government sectors.

To be considered for this role you must hold valid SC Clearance.

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

- Full management accountability across a number of Defence National Security internal and external projects, including project inter-dependencies through the full life-cycle of a programme/product
- Proposing, developing and applying programme/product strategy towards customers
- Ensuring that all Defence National Security programme/projects targets such as product quality, delivery schedule, financial objectives are met whilst verifying the company commitments towards the customers
- Leading the programme organisation, optimising and arbitrating for resources, conflicts, risks and opportunities
- Prioritising activity and resource calls in order to meet the business priorities of the Enterprise Defence National Security business
- Working with the functional managers to ensure the projects are suitably resourced
- Reporting to the Head of Defence National Security Delivery

This role will involve frequent travel for business.

Required skills

You have the following skills and experience:

- Ability to deal with shifting landscape of large and complex programmes, often without all of the information being available – being able to manage ambiguity.
- Educated to a degree level in Engineering, IT, Mathematics, Economics, Business Sciences or equivalent
- Several years of experience working in a customer service domain
- Experience working within the Defence National Security domain
- A proven track record of successfully delivering projects/programmes
- Formal qualification and experience in Project and Programme Management (e.g. PMP, PRINCE 2, MSP Practitioner)
- Excellent customer relationship skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time and prioritise tasks
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
- Ability to influence and negotiate
