My FS client based in Leeds are looking for a BI Architect to develop and maintain the BI strategy, ensuring their alignment to the Enterprise Data Strategy and Enterprise and Technical Architecture roadmaps.

Work with Enterprise Architecture and Solution Design to define and deliver the architecture and patterns for consumption of data post performance layer, with overall responsibility for architecture and design of data and semantic layer, reporting structures, scheduling and BI tooling.

Define and maintain the BI governance framework, including creating standards, policies and principles for development, presentation, testing, distribution and maintenance of BI, which delivers the business requirement for accurate, timely and trusted data.

Ensure BI designs align with strategic data and solution architecture principles including standards for metadata management.

Design data access models that meet user’s needs and comply with information security requirements.

Develop and deliver a roadmap to rationalise the existing BI estate and move to agreed target architecture.

Manage the End User Computing register. Design and implement a strategy for reduction of EUC use, reporting regularly on your progress.

Establish a BI competency framework and work with other BI leads to ensure colleagues achieve the required levels of competency to meet business need, including contributing to training.

Create and implement a monitoring framework for BI quality and performance, creating and driving an ethos of continuous improvement.

Act as the primary interface for the BI team with Enterprise Architecture, Data Governance and Information Security.

Represent the BI function in Architecture, Data Warehousing and Data Integration communities of practice.

Provide robust, effective performance management through the setting of targets and monitoring/ recording of results.

Ensure all colleagues in the team have a performance development plan for progression through the competency levels of their role.

Actively promote continuing professional development for all your team, signposting relevant opportunities.

Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships with internal and external stakeholders and promote a customer service culture in the team.

Lead by example and uphold the values and vision of the client.

Qualification Necessary

* Bachelor's or Master’s degree in an analytical field (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Finance or Statistics)

Skills Necessary:

* Ability to convey technical information in a clear and engaging way to non-technical colleagues.
* Strong leadership skills, able to motivate and manage teams both directly and via a matrix management approach.
* Resilient and tenacious approach to driving change and creating a team culture of embracing new technologies and practices.

Technical Knowledge required:

* Extensive experience in business intelligence, data management and reporting best practice.
* Understanding and experience in OLAP technologies.
* Detailed knowledge and experience of a range of BI tools, including common data visualisation software.
* Practical and theoretical grasp of the principles of BI presentation and data visualisation.

Experience necessary

* 3+ years as a BI Architect, Data Architect or Principle BI Analyst in a large business.
* 3+ years people management experience at senior level within a BI or data architecture setting.
* Have previously led change in technologies or practices and/or successfully implemented and analytics and reporting capabilities.
