A Field Service Engineer opportunity has just became available, within a leading business who supply to the Industrial Process Measurement and Automation sector. This global company is offering a competitive starting salary of £32,000 + bonus, for the right professionals that either live in or within a commutable distance of Cheshire/Manchester.

Field Service Engineer Main responsibilities:

* To carry out calibrations on customer sites to various instruments, in accordance to ISO 17025 standards
* Efficient & effective calibrations to both the business & third party instruments
* Interface with customers by the telephone, email, fax & letter providing proactive customer care
* Adhere to site safety rules, permit to work systems & carry out risk assessments
* Work to local & industry procedures & to comply with industry codes of practice and company quality management system
* To take on a lead role when working on site with any sub-contractor employed by the company
* Ensure your calibration tool kit is in good working order & within its calibration date
* You’re responsible for ensuring the relevant parts of your tool kit are sent back to head office for recalibration in a timely manner
* Ensure your PPE is corporate & fit for purpose
* Lead a team of less experienced calibration technicians as and when required
* Able to use our reporting system efficiently & produce reports in a timely manner
* Collection & logging of simple device information into our web enabled asset management system

Field Service Engineer Desirable requirements

* Educated to an ONC standard or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Instrumentation
* Technical knowledge of process control & process industries is essential
* Time served apprentice in electronic/instrumentation
* Leadership training in staff supervision
* MSE-Lotus notes

Field Service Engineer attributes/skills required

* Good understanding of customer requirements
* Ability to supervise a team
* Customer rapport building skills
* Good telephone & E mail manner
* Assertiveness
* Ability to work under pressure
* Self-motivated, have the ability to work on own initiative and as team player
* A flexible approach to working activities
* Good organisational skills
* Computer literate
