Collections Manager

An established, dynamic and customer focused direct lending company within the Financial Services sector has an opportunity for a Collections Manager to join their team in Slough, Berkshire.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the successful candidate will have overall responsibility for the collections function and as such, the role will suit someone with at least five years’ experience in collections. Experience managing a small to medium sized team, setting KPI targets and an ability to adapt quickly to an ever changing environment are also essential.

Main Duties:
- Overall responsibility for the Collections function
- Challenge existing collections framework (working standards, collections life cycle, payment hierarchy, contact strategies)
- Achieve challenging service levels and KPIs
- Build, manage and motivate a Collections team of 7 including a Team Leader while displaying core leadership skills and behaviours
- Deliver a game-changing customer experience while also hitting liquidation and recovery targets
- Adhere to FCA, CSA and OFCOM regulations as well as internal compliance regulations
- Engage and build relationships with external stakeholders including Debt Management/IVA companies and third party collections agencies
- Prepare and conduct weekly Collections Leadership meetings with CEO and other department leaders
- Be prepared to get ‘stuck in’ by contacting customers and answering calls on the busiest collections days

- At least 5 years of experience in consumer debt collections
- At least 3 years of experience as a team manager/operations manager
- Minimum under-graduate University Degree, preferably in Finance or Business Management
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Passionate about providing the best customer service possible
- Basic to Intermediate Excel skills
