Salary: £19,000 - £20,000 + overtime rates, statutory contributory pension scheme
Location: Loughborough, Leicestershire
Hours: 35 hour week

CNC Miller / CNC Turner

Our client is currently seeking a CNC Miller and/or Turner with a strong background in toolmaking or traditional mechanical engineering with experience of working in a precision engineering workshop manufacturing environment. Our client is a well established precision engineering company specialising manufacturing alloy and high tensile steel products for Automotive, Aerospace, Power and Research industries.

The successful CNC Miller / CNC Turner will have the skills and ability to undertake a range of duties within a traditional workshop machining environment.

The Role:
·CNC Miller / CNC Turner working in a precision engineering environment
·Working from technical drawings manufacturing and machining steel components for Aerospace, Automotive and Power Generation industries
·Machining of steel alloy component parts (nickel and titanium alloys)
·Workshops assembly and manufacturing of precision engineering components
·Specialising in milling on vertical and horizontal milling machines and/or turning on traditional lathes
·Milling and/or Turning / drilling / Wire EDM
·Using CNC milling machinery, lathes and other mechanical machinery some of which are traditional mechanical engineering tools
·The successful CNC Miller and CNC Turner will have good "hands-on" engineering skills to utilise various traditional workshop equipment and CNC machinery

The Person:
·Time Served Apprentice Trained Mechanical Engineer or Toolmaker with toolmaking, milling and/or turning experience.
·Experience of working in a traditional mechanical engineering workshop working with CNC milling and/or turning, CNC Machinery (manual and/or automated) XYZ ProtoTRAK, Siemens Control, Fanuc Controlled, Colchester lathes, Wire EDM
·Understanding of steel alloys and machining of hardened steel alloys ideally nickel and titanium alloys
·Quality Inspection using traditional workshop tools - predominantly self inspection work although experience of traditional inspection tools, inspecting: metric and imperial measurements i.e. shadow graphs, verniers, micrometers
·Working within ISO 9001 QA procedures - essential
·Working to fine tolerances - essential
·Ability to read and interpret technical drawings - essential

35 hours per week plus overtime 33 days inclusive of Christmas shut down and public holidays.
