Java J2EE Developer

Acting as a team member within a cross-functional agile development team, you will actively liaise with other team members including project managers to ensure the projects are released on time, with the required quality and expected functionality. Responsibilities·Design and development of new functionality and enhancement of existing products following company processes and architectural standards.

·Writing well designed, testable and efficient code following SOLID principles.

·Contributing in all phases of the software development life-cycle including troubleshooting and fixing problems across multiple environments and operating platforms.

·Resolving technical issues through debugging, research, and investigation.

·Deploying the company’s software products onto clients systems.

Essential Skills & Qualifications·Minimum of 2 years of design and development of Java web applications in a commercialorganisation following agile principles.

·Experience of developing web application using Spring Core, MVC and REST.

·Proven working experience with Relational Databases, SQL and ORM technologies (such as JPA, Spring Data, Hibernate).

·Proven working knowledge of JavaScript, JQuery, HTML and JSP.

·Unit testing with JUnit and a mocking framework such as Mockito.

·Strong debugging, problem solving and investigative skills.

·Familiarity with version control with Git and issue tracking with JIRA.

Desirable Skills·BDD with Cucumber and Selenium WebDriver.

·Experience working with Oracle database.

·Spring Batch, Integration and Boot.

·SOAP Web services – XML & JSON.

·Continuous Integration with Jenkins

Please note that we are ideally looking for someone who is already living within a commutable distance to the office in Chester and applications will only be considered from individuals entitled to live and work in the UK.

The role may require occasional international travel to client sites to support on-site deployments, and occasional client support outside of normal office hours to take into account different time zones.

The salary for this role is paying up to 51K according to skills and experience. In addition the company offers a generous pension scheme, 25 days holiday, healthcare cover and life assurance as part of a flex benefits scheme available to all employees.
