Main Purpose of Role

Reporting to the Software Manager the successful candidate will be hands on providing full life cycle development of PLC and Wonderware software. The team of software engineers are deployed on multiple new product developments, working with hardware and software application engineers as part of multidisciplinary teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing the capabilities of the department with respect to PLC and Wonderware deployment through his or her own activities.

Key Responsibilities

·Participate in the development, documentation and enforcement of processes to ensure effective application development, distribution, deployment and support.

·Provide third line support as required by the software manager.

·Liaison with members of project teams to establish objectives.

·Ensure the appropriate attention to details is exercised and the agreed outcomes are delivered.

·Occasional international travel may be required.

Key Qualifications and experience:

·Degree in Electrica/Electronics l Engineering essential

·Preferably a HND or Bachelor’s degree in Electronic or Computer Engineering.

·5 years’ experience application development using Wonderware InTouch and Siemen’s PLC S7-300 including Step 7 essential.

·Knowledge of other SCADA and PLC system essential

·Analytical, logical, methodical, consistent approach to testing and problem solving.

·Fluent in English, both spoken and written

·Ability to deal directly with design engineers.

·Demonstrable literacy and numeracy, ability to write clear concise documents.

·Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

·Delivery focussed with emphasis on time and quality.
