A highly reputable insurance organisation that operates in the London market is currently seeking a Compliance Officer with particular expertise of PRA regulation.

This is a high-profile position within the organisation and will give you the opportunity to develop your knowledge across a broad range of subjects including actuarial, investments, company governance and underwriting.

You will be interacting with senior stakeholders on a regular basis whilst acting as primary point of contact for the PRA on any queries they may have. You'll also ensure that any prudential changes are relayed to relevant stakeholders and will write regular reports on prudential activity.

Details of position:

The main aspect of this role is to give comfort to the PRA that the business is managing the risks set out in their annual workplan in a satisfactory manner. You'll act as primary liaison for any ad-hoc queries from the PRA. You will become a trusted advisor to the business on all prudential regulatory matters and will be expected to develop a keen understanding of regulatory expectations in this area as well as strong internal relationships. The key criteria for success will be to fully understand the expectations of the PRA and how the business can meet thos expectations in a proportionate manner.


- Acting as main point of contact between the PRA and the business.
- Proactively developing a strong working relationship with the PRA and Lloyd's.
- Working with management to promptly address PRA issues.
- Leading on the coordination of PRA regulatory reviews as required.
- Ensuring that governance maps are kept up to date.
- Completing annual assessments of Hiscox's regulated entities with compliance against governance requirements.
- Playing a lead role in ensuring the business is ready for upcoming Senior Manager and Certification regime.
- Providing advice to management on Prudential regulatory matters.
- Providing ad-hoc training to staff and producing MI and metrics for the the Head of Compliance.
- Working with HR to maintain an up to date list of material risk takers.
- Preparing and submitting applications to the PRA / FCA for SIMR and FCA approved person positions.
- Assist in preparing staff for PRA interviews.

You will:

- Be very comfortable with complex and technical regulations with an excellent attention to detail.
- Have an in-depth knowledge of, and experience gained in insurance - you will also have experience gained in the Lloyd's market.
- Have a background in either compliance, risk, consulting or at a prudential regulator.
- Have confidence when dealing with Executive and Board level individuals.
- Possess an ability to make decisions independently and to then communicate those to and get buy-in from senior stakeholders.
