Interlegal Consulting offers all aspects of accountancy services including accounts preparation, audit, tax and advisory to a wide range of businesses and individuals ranging from £2k - £4M in turnover, we help business owners to start, grow, develop and sell their businesses.

Following the rapid growth and success of the firm in the last few months, Interlegal Consulting is seeking a focused and ambitious Practising member of the ACA/ACCA regulatory bodies that is looking to progress to Partner level within 18 - 24 months.

We are looking to recruit an experienced all-rounded practising member which will include experience in signing off accounts, audits and being a primary accounts and tax adviser to our clients. As Practicing member, 50% of your time will be managing your own portfolio and the remaining 50% will be general management i.e. reviewing the work of others and managing them. You will therefore have experience in:

·Managing a portfolio of owner managed businesses including limited companies, sole traders and partnerships

·Preparing and reviewing limited company accounts for groups of companies as well as the largest clients

·Assisting in planning, overseeing fieldwork and finishing of audit assignments

·Reviewing VAT returns

·Dealing with clients’ queries

·Overseeing accounting staff

·Assisting staff with accounting queries and issues

·Assist in training trainee staff


·Qualified (member) ACA/ACCA with practising certificate


·Working in UK public practice for a minimum of 6 years

·4 years post qualification experience

·Experience of supervising and teaching other members of staff


·Ability to review other accounts, tax and VAT assignments

·Ability to complete accounts assignments through to partner review

·Excellent knowledge of IRIS Accountancy Suite including Accounts Production, Business Tax, Personal Tax, Company Secretarial and Company Formations

·Good understanding of FRS102 including section 1A

·Enthusiasm for business development and networking to continue with the firm's development

·Strong technical ability with the necessary skills to manage and advise OMBs and SMEs

·Maintaining strong business relationships with existing clients and assisting with the development of new business

In addition to your technical experience you should have excellent client handling skills, the ability to talk with business owners about broader commercial issues and ideally a track record of fee and client generation.

As such the successful candidate will be an ACA or ACCA qualified RI with proven technical skills and the ability to manage complex accounts and deal with all regulatory and compliance issues. You may currently be a Manager with limited scope for progression or perhaps already be a Partner looking for a fresh challenge. At Partner level, some fee- following, and networking would be expected.
