I am currently recruiting for a Senior Data Reporting Analyst to work on a permanent basis for a major public-sector infrastructure organisation in London.

As a Senior Reporting Analyst, you will lead the reporting activities of a specified region of the programme, and under the management Reporting Manager, provide this as an embedded service under Project Controls. This includes collecting, consolidating, verifying and analysing reporting data from the area and producing high quality progress reports, as well as supporting the Data Manager to champion the ‘virtual data analytics’ community.

About the role:
  • Collecting, consolidating, verifying and analysing reporting data from across the programme to produce informative, high quality monthly programme reports for various internal and client-facing programme governance and decision-making forums.
  • Collecting and consolidating reports from across Phase One to support monthly management meetings and monthly business review meetings.
  • Set objectives, review performance and ensure the team have the necessary skills to deliver a consistent reporting.
  • Support the Head of Project Controls with the production of Area specific high quality publications and ad hoc reports, as required.
  • Support the Reporting Manager with the production of high quality publications and ad hoc reports, as required.
  • Ensure the monthly PMC reporting arrangements are communicated clearly across the AREA, so employees understand how and when reports are generated and used, and what inputs need to be provided, and when.
  • Contribute to the analysis of reports to articulate key trends, and issues by summary narrative, to inform business decisions.
  • Support the core team on projects as required and become a Phase One lead for reporting of key disciplines, e.g. Cost, Programme, Risk, etc.
  • Support the Reporting Manager by advising current and future reporting requirements in the AREA.
  • Work collaboratively with the Systems and Data Manager, to support the virtual Data Analytics Team and ensure alignment of reporting
  • Support the Systems Project Manager, to ensure reporting systems remain ‘best-in-breed’.
  • Support the Quality Manager to assure the reports are consistent, timely and accurate.
  • Assist with the preparation of ad hoc reports as required.
  • Support the development of key systems to deliver automation where possible

The successful candidate will have recent experience of managing complex reporting processes and deliverables while coordinating multiple workstream leads and report contributors to collaborate within defined project parameters, you will also be experienced in assessing and analysing business information and reports to identity key issues. You will also have experience with:
  • Proven ability and experience with large Excel spreadsheets, MS Word and Powerpoint;
  • Planning – To plan and manage his/her own workload to contribute to the delivery of timely high quality reports to the tight turnaround timescales present between when Business Information is available each month and when the reports are due for the governance meetings that they support;
  • Resilience – To work effectively under pressure, particularly during the core reporting period each month referred to above;
  • Communication and stakeholder management skills – effective written and verbal communication skills to liaise with personnel at various levels within the organisation and its key partners, to gather and query the business information provided, to contribute to the narrative sections of reports and to convey the information in an easily digestible manner.
  • Has good attention to detail and developing strategic awareness (recognises key issues and their wider implications).
