Transport Compliance Manager - Leading UK Transport Business - Huntingdon.

Client Details

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Transport Compliance Manager to join a leading UK transports national network of hubs on an contractual basis. Reporting directly to the UK General Manager from their Huntingdon site, you will be primarily responsible for managing, scheduling, planning, tracking and auditing the planned preventative maintenance programme of a large, varied fleet.

This role is a 12 months contract position. It may have the option to be either extended or made permanent during that 12 month period.


The successful candidate will be required to manage the following responsibilities:

  • Report to the UK General Manager
  • Managing the operational effectiveness of fleet administration, store risk assessments, driver training, payroll, management information reporting and compliance auditing.
  • Provide internal and external assurance of Vehicle Fleet Compliance incorporating Safety, Health and Environmental compliance
  • Internal and external assurance of Vehicle Fleet Compliance incorporating Vehicle workshop compliance
  • Suitability qualified and experienced (SQEP) capacity to meet the compliance requirements of current and future legislation
  • Compliance in line with internal policies, procedures and written systems
  • Advice and guidance to operators and managers on fleet compliance issues
  • You will be required to work closely with the HSE Manager (Compliance) and the safety, health and environmental Managers and Advisors throughout the business
  • Compliance Assurance will be focused primarily in the fields of VOSA 0 Licences, Fleet Operations and Technical Operations (such as vehicle workshop, manufacturer, ADR, etc.)
  • Commutable to Huntingdon


The successful candidate for the Transport Compliance Manager position will have the following skills and experiences:

  • Have a Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain background
  • CPC National qualified - Advantageous
  • A minimum 3 years experience in a Transport / Distribution environment
  • In-depth experience within Transport operations within a similar sized fleet would be advantageous (UK wide up to - 110 units and 220 trailers, circa 120 drivers)
  • IT Literate (TMS Systems /Microsoft Office)
  • Experience of building an engaged and high performing team and culture
  • Fleet Maintenance and accident investigation and management experience
  • Budget and P&L ownership
  • Experienced in Lean management, managing change and transition
  • Working knowledge of Transport law inc EU drivers hours and RTD
  • Health and Safety at Work Knowledge
  • A high level of attention to detail

Job Offer

This position offers the following package:

  • Salary - £35,000 to £40,000
