You will join a creative and innovative English department who are keen to inspire their students through their love of English. Many of the students that you will work with will be at that critical C/D grade borderline and under the guidance of this ambitious English department you will provide extra support these students in order for them to achieve their very best possible GCSE outcome. English graduates looking to apply for this position must have at least a 2.1 degree in English and a secure knowledge of both literature and language.
To be successful in this role you will have a passion for your subject and an invested interest in the success of the young people you teach. Although planning and resources will be provided to support your delivery of English interventions; the school welcomes creativity and believes there is still room for variety. As you become more confident in the role you can begin to adapt planning and develop your own teaching style.
The school has a proven track record of working with and developing exceptional graduates; giving them the required skills and experience to become future 'Outstanding' teachers! Furthermore the school have a teacher training programme and some of our Academic Coaches have already secured training places with the school. They are now using this vital experience as an Academic Coach as a 'foundation year' to starting their teacher training.
