Job title – Maintenance Engineer

Salary £36,000 + pension contribution + up to 26 days holiday per year.

Shifts: 06:00-14:00/ 14:00-22:00/ 22:00-06:00

Location: Dartford

Delivering over 140 million items through their network each year, my client is the largest distributor of parcels within the UK. As a multinational site, this market leading company turnover £780 million each year.

Due to a multi-Billion pound global merger with one of the world’s largest courier services, this annual turnover is set to rocket and there are plans for wild scale expansion.

As part of their continuous expansion and exciting growth, my client has recently completed the opening of a new £50 Million site in Dartford, and they are looking for Maintenance Engineers to join their fantastic team.

The role

As a Maintenance Engineer within the Dartford site you will be responsible for maintaining the machines that allow for the shipping of up to 80,000 parcels per night. These machines include conveyor systems, automated sortation machines, and packaging machines among others.

Your main responsibility will be to work from planned preventive maintenance schedules which will allow for the smooth running of all systems avoiding impacting service levels.

There will also be an aspect of reactive maintenance and fault finding on Siemens S7 and Mitsubishi systems.

The candidate

The ideal Maintenance Engineer will be electrically biased learning their trade through a recognised apprenticeship scheme such as the City and Guilds Level 3 (16th or 17th edition). They will also have some mechanical knowledge, experience of working within a similar background with a strong understanding of maintaining automated equipment. As they will be working with 6 other engineers, they will be a strong team player and have good communication skills.
