Interim Directorate Accountant
? To work closely with Directorate Management, providing timely and accurate information and advice to facilitate the effective monitoring and management of the Trust's financial position and to support the decision making process.
? To play a significant role in the formulation of the Trust's annual budget and ensure that financial controls are maintained within Corporate Governance
This is a position to cover sick leave for an public sector client.
Manage team of 4 direct reports
Manage directorate reporting of circa £275m
Manage turnover of £1,020m
A good level of education in a numerate subject.
? Professional accountancy qualification or equivalent knowledge, experience and expertise.
? Substantial experience in the finance department of a complex organisation.
? Able to work autonomously to agreed objectives whilst given the freedom to instigate changes, whilst working within broad occupational policies, acting without reference to manager
? In depth specialist and practical knowledge of public sector Finance Regime and in particular budgetary control techniques
? A good working knowledge of financial computer systems.
? Ability to make judgements involving highly complex facts and situations.
? Must have staff management experience and the ability to plan and organise a range of complex activities and programmes.
? Able to communicate complex, sensitive or contentious information to a range of different audiences using a range of different communication methods.
? Flexible approach required to fulfil the duties in an environment with ever changing and/or conflicting priorities.
? Evidence of participation in Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
