About the company

My client is one of the UK’s leading manufacturers and suppliers of expanded polystyrene products usually used in the insulation of flooring, roofing and walls. They sport a fantastic client portfolio, supplying to the likes of B&Q, Wickes, Taylor Wimpey and other large well-known building merchants. With the boom in the construction market set to continue to rise, my clients order book is bursting, therefore, are looking for an experience multiskilled Maintenance fitter to join their team at their site In Greater London.

About the job

As a maintenance fitter your main responsibilities will be as followed;

  • Planned preventive maintenance on all plant equipment.
  • Reactive maintenance on all plant equipment.
  • Electrical and mechanical fault finding on plant equipment.
  • Keeping plant machinery downtime to a minimum.
  • Continuous improvement of plant machinery.
  • Testing for legionella.

Plant machinery includes - boilers, cooling towers, cutting lines, conveyors, kuka robots, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems.

The role will entail working both electrically and mechanically down to component level, stripping and rebuilding components and changing like for like.

About you

As a maintenance fitter, ideally you will be apprentice trained with either a mechanical or electrical bias. You MUST have experience servicing boilers, working with pneumatic and hydraulic systems. It would be beneficial for you to have some welding/fabrication experience however this is not essential as you will be given full training where needed. Again, ideally it would be fantastic if you have experience working as a fitter in a manufacturing environment.
