You’ll be jumping straight in at the deep end as a Project Planner on this multi-million-pound scheme encompassing a brand-new junction, roundabout, bridge and associated road upgrades. Enabling works are currently underway and ground is due to be broken on site over the next couple of months, so you’ll be in on the action right from the start. As a site-based Project Planner, you’ll be working directly with the projects and commercial teams to develop client-facing contract programmes and will also have the opportunity to travel to head office when supporting work-winning pre-qualifications and tenders across the Highways division. On a daily basis, your duties will include updating the Detailed Design Programme and Pre-Construction Schedule alongside designers to ensure a robust and achievable schedule is delivered which accurately reflects risk and key project milestone impact opportunities. Alongside this, you’ll also be responsible for cost loading the schedule, generated earned value analysis, monthly updating schedule and reports and factoring in the impact of compensation events or any other project impact. Major projects Highways experience is a must for this position. You’ll play an important role in this busy, dedicated planning team so you’ll need to be able to work both as part of a team and independently on this multi-million-pound key project. You’ll need to be able to scrutinise design information and provide value-adding input to ensure the optimum solutions are developed throughout the construction phase. You’ll also need to be highly technically skilled and effective and efficient in the use of Primavera P6. Extensive experience in Earned Value Analysis (EVA) is also essential for this role as it will play a significant part in your daily duties. Alongside this, you’ll ideally come from a strong civils background and be educated to HNC/HND or degree level in Civil Engineering.
