The company focuses on providing clinical products and solutions operating within three main areas; these being Patient Monitoring & Life Support, Medical Diagnostics and In Vitro Diagnostics.
This role has become available due to an internal promotion and we are ideally looking for a biomedical engineer/technician with a degree in engineering and experience of working with medical devices either in a Hospital or in the Field.
You may have been working for most of your career in the field and now be looking for less travelling and a static base with more regular hours of work.
Alternatively you may be a relatively newly qualified biomedical technician who is ambitious and keen to impress.
We can also consider you if you are from an electronic background and can demonstrate the ability to fault find at component level, you will also need to be keen to develop within medical engineering.
The workshop, where you will be based, will offer you a very friendly environment in which to work and the UK Service Manager has an open door policy and is also very hands on and he has a very good record of mentoring and developing employees. The staff room is also equipped with table tennis equipment and other things to encourage you to relax when not working and relieve any stress.
It is essential that you are of smart appearance and are able to communicate with all levels of people - your internal stakeholders will be predominantly the field service engineers as well as customers so you will have a superb command of the English language (both written and oral) and you will have a helpful disposition, good I.T. literacy is also required and the ability to work with Excel spreadsheets.
The hours are officially 9-5pm however flexibility is required and provided on both sides. The team is a very cohesive one and you will be kept busy, we are looking for you to be hard working and manage your time well and also have an outgoing personality.
You will be working mainly with patient monitoring equipment and portable ultra sound equipment, training will be provided. You will be required to maintain accurate spare parts inventories and rotate your stock accordingly.
You will be responsible for maintaining your tools and test equipment and to make sure that they are all regularly calibrated.
You may be asked to conduct training to clinical staff on designated equipment and make decisions based on company policies and procedures.
It is important that you possess open communications with your manager and team at all times and show initiative.
This is an environment where internal bureaucracy is kept to a minimum promoting proactive customer service at all times.
In addition to your basic salary you will be able to earn two different bonuses one is paid annually and the other bi-annually and one is based on company performance and one is entirely based on you achieving your own key performance indicators.
