My client is a leading Energy Consultancy situated in Central London, who are looking for a Senior Energy Analyst to provide expert advice and recommendations on the UK and European energy markets.
Working closely with the trading team you will develop short to medium term trading strategies and long-term scenario analysis. You will develop and contribute to all internal and external market industry reports ensuring their clients are aware of all market and industry changes that influence future energy prices. You will be expected to present your analysis to clients, at workshops and seminars and support the sales team in targeting prospective customers.

Candidate Responsibilities
• Energy market analysis, modelling and forecasting for UK and European natural gas and power, oil and oil products
• Support the trading team through the identification and implementation of short and long-term hedging strategies
• Monitor legislative and regulatory energy industry changes that influence current and future energy prices
• Support the development of long-term scenario analysis
• Production and on-going development of all internal and external publications
• Presenting analysis to clients in meetings, seminars and workshops
• Support the development of new products and research opportunities
• Work with the trading and commercial teams to identify customer service delivery improvement opportunities
• Supporting the sales, commercial and carbon teams by providing bespoke consultancy as and when opportunities arise
• Assist in the targeting of customers and be involved in sales meetings with prospective customers

Experience & Attributes Required:
• Proven experience within the Energy services sector
• Experience in either oil, gas, renewable, fuel or power analysis
• 3+ years’ experience of energy commodity markets
• Proven experience of forecasting, hedging, trading and market analysis
• The ability to make forecasting, hedging, trading recommendations and to support findings with reports and presentations
• Excellent communication skills; able to present your research to the media where necessary
• The ability to undertake a number of projects and ensure they are completed
• Demonstration of your knowledge enthusiastically, passionately and clearly
• Excellent listening and probing skills
