The Organisation:

The Green Recruitment Company is representing a national, highly successful, growing environmental consultancy offering a full range of services in Ecology and Planning with offices covering the whole of the UK. The consultancy are looking for an Associate/Director of Ecology to be based in their London office.

The Role:

The Associate/Director of Ecology will be involved in all aspects of project management and project delivery; overseeing and coordinating the ecology team in a range of different projects. The role requires the Associate/Director of Ecology to have strong business development skills with a strong background in client management and delivery. The role is highly flexible dependent on the skills of the Associate/Director of Ecology and hence candidates of all skill sets are requested to apply.

As part of the role the Associate/Director of Ecology will;

Spend at least 75% of time on project/changeable objectives
Win and manage complex (multidisciplinary) projects and inputs. Provide a single point of contact for clients on these projects and demonstrate exemplary client care.
Manage and assist other project managers and other member of the team as appropriate, to deliver multi-disciplinary projects
Ensure that all technical content from self and others is correct and sound
Liaise and/or direct internal/external project teams, attending meetings (both internally and externally) as required and appropriate
Working outside normal hours as necessary

Person Specification:

A first degree in a relevant subject supported by a post-graduate qualification in an environmental subject
Excellent report-writing skills
Business development skills (Essential)
Client management and client delivery skills (Essential)
Proven project- and people-management abilities
Full IEEM membership
Relevant academic qualifications to postgraduate-level
Ideally one or more specialisms in Ecology (e.g. tree-climbing surveys, arboriculture, botany, BREEAM, EIA etc.)
Protected species survey licenses (especially bat, great crested newt or dormouse).
To have worked on a full range of projects including Phase I habitat surveys and conducting EPS Surveys
Be a charted environmentalist
