These services include construction, regeneration and support The company is looking to recruit a Sustainable Development Manager for their growing office in Hertfordshire.

The Role:

The Sustainable Development Manager will be responsible for delivering the company’s aim with respect to sustainable development.
The Sustainable Development Manager will provide sustainability expertise across the company in line with corporate objectives. A large proportion of the role will be focused on resource efficiency and materials’ properties and innovation.

Key tasks will include;
• Compliance and achievement of personal and company targets
• Assist in the development of new policies in relation to Sustainable Development
• Implementation of environmental management systems and processes to monitor and report against sustainability targets business
• Research and implement resource minimisation
• Identify and carry out R&D on products and materials that enable resource efficiency and sustainability
• Realise opportunities for the business through the procurement of goods, works and services
• Support the delivery of training and other capacity building activities
• Carry out research to identify best practice and develop case-studies
• Support Group business development and bids with sustainability input
• Managing and communicate with internal and external stakeholders

Person Specification:

The Sustainable Development Manager will need to have;
• Minimum relevant level 4 qualification (HNC / NVQ4 etc)
• Degree in an environmental or related subject (Preferred)
• Valid driving licence
• Membership of relevant professional body (Preferred)
• Appropriate CSCS card
• Excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Good analytical skills
• Ability to make technical, process and practical evaluations of new products and systems and their sustainable attributes.
• Experience of carrying out R&D and/ or investigations relating to sustainability or construction
• Numerate and able to evaluate technical and financial data
• Understanding of design and construction processes
• Experience in one or more of carbon, energy, waste, resources, water, materials, procurement, or social sustainability.
• Understanding of sustainability issues ideally related to the construction sector
