Main Duties and Responsibilities: Work with budget holders in ensuring the business understands the financials to make good commercial decisions and drive down costs; Ensure shared understanding of cost drivers with budget holders and use this data to produce evidence based forecasts; Ensure accurate and timely consolidation of financial positions; support controls and governance to manage the resource provision. Maintain a suitable trail for budget delegations, spend limits, procurement considerations, segregation of duties, compliance with standards and governance requirements. Ensure financial information provided to managers is robust to enable them to make informed decisions. Double Entry Journals, book keeping and reconciliation to balance sheets. General Ledger, Oracle and Financial Systems, High level of IT skills (excel to intermediate level as a minimum). Full membership of CCAB accounting institutes, CIMA or recognised equivalent and compliance with Continuing Professional Development requirement of their professional accountancy body.

Experience ------Financial Modelling --------

1. Updated DBS financial model covering the period from 2017/18 to 2020/21 including tracking of DBS against approved business cases 2. Agreed monitoring and governance of financial model changes to support reconciliation and approval of key model movements 3. Updated establishment model tracking and monitoring changes in DBS approved staffing levels 4. Training programme (which may include sessions and coaching) to support improved modelling capability within DBS

1. Knowledge and experience in developing, monitoring and updating complex financial models, using net present value, scenario analysis and other techniques to aid decision making 2. Advanced Excel skills 3. Knowledge of Finance systems and processes 4. Qualified CCAB / CIMA accountant. 5. Ability to explain financial information to non financial audiences, and to support the financial assessment of proposals to aid decision making 6. Activity based costing experience preferred

Brief Description To support the Senior Finance Business Partner in providing financial support to the business. Provide a single point of contact, advice and challenge on the use of resources in demand, performance and business plan priorities.
