A fast-growing global business services company which specialises in providing corporate payment solutions and merchant services is recruiting a customer service focused Credit Officer to join their finance and vetting team. This global company was established almost 30 years ago with offices across Europe, Asia and the USA and the role represents a fantastic opportunity, with the potential opportunity to complete a professional credit management qualification with ICM and also qualify for a monthly commission scheme.

This role is based in modern, professional offices in Crewe, only a short walk from the train station and the hours of work are rotated between 08:30 - 17:00 and 09:00 - 17:30 Monday to Friday with no weekend work whatsoever. You will need to assess credit worthiness of new applicants and assign suitable credit limits to new accounts whilst also monitoring existing accounts.

The successful candidate will possess the following attributes:

· A confident telephone manner

· Positive and enthusiastic Attitude towards work

· Strong knowledge of Excel

· The ability to prioritise and manage your own workload

· Developing strong relationships with external sales agents

Experience within some form of finance or credit role would be recommended to any applicants. Although this is a Credit role the successful candidate may come from a collections, Finance assistant or risk background.

As a Credit Officer your responsibilities will include:

  • · Processing new credit applications and gathering key information to ensure that a sound, well informed decision is made.
  • · Interrogation of financial statements including trend identification.
  • · Daily generation of volume reports using excel and an in house database. Monitoring, managing and reporting of exceeded credit limits.
  • · Assessment of customer fuel drawings against their agreed credit limit using on-line credit reference agencies to obtain company/consumer info.
  • · Assessing customer accounts making an informed decision on credit limits ensuring minimal risk, whilst being commercially aware.
