A post has become available for a Network and Systems Manager who will operationally and technically lead on and manage the College’s ITC infrastructure as well as lead on planning, development and implementation of the College’s IT strategy in order to meet the needs of teaching and learning and lead on ITC and information systems innovations.Experience of working in an educational environment would be an advantage.
Applicants must have:1.Recognised IT or Engineering Degree Qualification2.IT Certifications (including but not limited to the following MCP, MCSA/MCSE/MCITP, CCNA, or VCP)3.Knowledge or certification of a Project or Service Management Qualification (ITIL, Prince2)4.Good understanding of the major components supporting a complex shared ICT service; infrastructure (including virtualisation & storage), data warehouse, data integration, development support and user facing services5.Technical expertise within WinTel environment such as Window Server, Exchange Server, SQL server, virtualisation (VMware), SAN Storage with some aspects of VOIP & telephony systems.6.Confidence in SQL Scripting and database management.7.Extensive knowledge of IT Security protocols, processes, policies and standards, information security8.Understanding of commercial contracts, outsourced/managed services, service level agreements and KPIs9.Experience in successfully managing and delivery of complex ICT Projects.10.Understanding and experience of business processes, management, project planning and budgeting, including the deployment of resources to achieve objectives.11.Experience of managing, inspiring, engaging and motivating a team and colleagues to achieve excellent results in a user focused environment12.Capability of working and managing a team.13.A high level of interpersonal and communication skills.14.
