Instrument & Control Team Leader (Safety) - Permanent - Dorset

A fantastic new opportunity has arisen for an Instrument and Control (I&C) Team Leader to head a small team of engineering specialists which provides a vital service for my client's existing UK Nuclear Power Plant fleet, based in the Dorset region. The team you will head up is responsible for analysing their customers' current obsolescent I&C equipment and proposing new and innovative solutions to ensure the equipment can continue to operate safely and reliably for the life of the plant. Your team will ultimately be responsible for implement new solutions.

Your responsibilities will include:
* lead, motivate, develop and support the I&C team to provide the best solutions for your customers
* build an effective I&C team to address a range of customer needs
* analyse existing equipment to establish requirements for replacement or refurbishment
* establish a number of solutions to the repair/ replacement of the existing equipment and produce proposals for new solutions
* justify solutions to senior management, the customer, and ultimately the regulator, the Health & Safety Executives Office of Nuclear Regulation (ONR)

You will report into the Chief Electronics Engineer but where specialist technical support or guidance is required, you will be able to go to the Technical Director. From a management perspective, you will be in charge of the day to day activities of your I&C team and take on a supervisory role. As a successful I&C Team Leader, you will be the technical authority in the business area for the proposed solutions

* degree educated in a related subject, otherwise quantifiable domain expertise
* relevant qualifications backed up with continuous professional development with a recognised professional institution
* ability to demonstrate a good track record in I&C system design and maintenance
* safety regulated industry experience
* ability to mange multiple tasks, set priorities and make decisions
* excellent communication abilities (presentation, oral and written)
* safety & quality focused
* must be eligible to gain UK Security Clearance
