AM2 Centre Manager
AM2 Centre Manager/Examiner
Salary: £30,000 and £40,000 depending on experience
At JTL, we work with over 3,000 businesses and train more apprentices than anyone else in the building services engineering sector. JTL apprentices achieve more - because we only take on the best. That`s one in ten of the people who apply. Each year, 80% of those get their qualifications. Compare that to 60% nationally for work-based learning. Success also comes from our training officers, who help our apprentices from day one. So, with growing demand for our services we are looking for someone to join our team at our AM2 Centre in Birmingham - a facility that combines attractive classrooms and a conference centre with separate workshops to support the practical training of up to 144 apprentices at any one time.
Can you take responsibility for AM2 assessment? Then we can promise you a career of unusual variety and interest.
You will develop, prepare and maintain a safe, robust and secure induction and assessment programme that maximises occupancy of the AM2 Centre in line with NET requirements. This role will see you active in more than running the programmes - although this will be a significant part of your remit. You will be working with the marketing team, for instance, promoting the AM2 centre. You will also work with external parties, assisting with industry events, committees and responding to requests. And, we will need your support running electrical training courses (Level 2, 3 and BTEC NC/HNC) as part of sickness and holiday cover.
It`s a challenge that calls for either a NVQ 3 Installing and Commissioning Electrical Systems - Equipment or City and Guilds 2360 part 1 and 2 certificates - or equivalent. You will also need a relevant qualification relating to knowledge and understanding of the current edition of the BS 7671 IET Requirements for Electrical Installations and a Level 3 Certificate in Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations (2391 - 2394/5 or equivalent). Add to this verifiable post qualification - or apprenticeship - industry experience within an electrical services organisation and proven and demonstrable knowledge of the AM2 assessment process and you will soon be making your mark driving this new team.
Any experience of working with young people and students would be a real advantage, as you would some exposure to the building services engineering sector. You will also need a driving licence and use of a car. First-class communication and commercial skills are, of course, essential.
In addition to the salary, there is an excellent benefits package, training and development, an occupational pension scheme, 25 days annual leave and BUPA.
A DBS disclosure will be required.
We welcome applicants from all sections of the community. JTL is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and expects all its employees to share this commitment.
