A successful headhunter will work hard for often long days and have to keep focused. You will spend most of your time either on the phone or meeting with people; essentially networking to find the best talent out there and, once you have been promoted to a full consultant, also the best clients to work with. If you are good, you will develop the ability to have progressive conversations that lead to tangible business outcomes. This is a fast-paced role, each day will be different and you will have to be organised so that you can multi-task effectively managing many different projects at any one time. Being a headhunter is different to the majority of roles in recruitment – you will benefit from an entrepreneurial approach as you are essentially running a business within a business with the autonomy to deliver the strategy that you believe will deliver the optimum results.
