Shift Process Engineer (Semiconductors) Manchester

Salary £20-£28,000 per annum plus 44% Shift Allowance

Based in Manchester, but with office and factory locations across the UK, Europe, US and Asia, our client is a leading manufacturer of semiconductor materials and devices. Ongoing growth, coupled to excellent trading conditions in the last six months, means they now need to make the key hire of a Shift Process Engineer.

Reporting into the Process Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for translating customer's requirements into a finished product that meets the customer defined physical, electronic and optical specifications. You will carry out these duties on a shift basis.
Other key responsibilities should include:

  • Day-to-day responsibility for one or more process reactors, recipe generation, customer sign-off and process responsibility for relevant product lines
  • Liaison with other teams (Maintenance and Production) to ensure reactors are maintained and run to the required specifications ensuring the customer is delivered a quality product.
  • Provide escalation path to Shift Teams for problem solving.

Educated to HNC/HND calibre in a technical, manufacturing or scientific discipline, you are an experienced semiconductor process engineer. This would suit candidates from mainstream semiconductors, R+D and optoelectronic backgrounds. This would also suit candidates with a specialism in any of the following areas: photolithography, etch, deposition Strong problem solving skills are a must in this role.

Highly skilled and motivated graduate calibre candidates with a background in physics, chemistry and/or some semiconductor processing knowledge should also apply.
