We are seeking an Assistant Psychologist to join our team Monday to Friday 9:00 – 17:00.

Sherwood House is a 30 bed specialist mental health rehabilitation service for adult males dedicated to providing a high quality environment dedicated to promoting long-term recovery. Dedicated clinical teams provide a multi-disciplinary input including occupational therapy, psychology, psychiatry and vocational training.

In this role you will:

• Work independently on a day-to-day basis. Your work will be guided by a plan and objectives that are agreed and reviewed by a Qualified Psychologist
• Support the Qualified Psychologist in their day-to-day tasks. Duties will range from helping them to deliver clinical services – such as psychological assessments and interventions - to governance and administrative activities, and assisting with aspects of report writing and project development
• Undertake assessments of relevant psychological characteristics
• Along with the Qualified Psychologist, you will also work with the Honorary Assistant Psychologist and Trainee Clinical Psychologist

We're looking for people who have:

• A good level degree in Psychology (BA or BSc)
• British Psychological Society (BPS) Graduate Membership
• Some experience within the healthcare sector
• Experience within a mental health setting is preferred
• A Psychology Masters Qualification (or equivalent) is desirable
• Previous experience in a paid/voluntary Assistant Psychologist role is desirable
• A passion for learning and working as part of a multidisciplinary rehabilitation mental health team
• Good communication skills
