Salary £8.50 - £12.75 per hour
Our client is currently looking to recruit experienced healthcare assistants who are able to provide complex care in the home of our client who has a C1-C2 spinal injury.
They provide a package of 2:1 care to this client over a 7-day period and continuity of the care team is extremely important to him and his family. As a result they need healthcare assistants who can commit to regular work with this client on a long-term basis.
Their client’s spinal injury means that he has a tracheostomy in situ and is ventilator reliant and fed by gastrostomy. He is also an insulin controlled diabetic.
About the Healthcare Assistant role:
You will be assisting with all clinical and personal care tasks which includes tracheostomy care, nutrition and medication via gastrostomy and all moving and handling which is done via hoist. It is also important that you can provide social support out in the community.
Working hours for this package are 8am to 8pm days and 8pm to 8am nights. They need people who are flexible and can do a mixture of both shift patterns.
You must be a driver and be able to drive the client’s mobility vehicle and have at least one year's care experience - experience in tracheostomy care is desirable
