£40-50k + competitive bonus + benefits

A cutting-edge financial software house are seeking an enthusiastic Java Developer with 2+ years of experience to join a fantastic agile team of technologists.

You will be exposed to a great variety of projects working them from start to finish: gathering business requirements, design, developing, and testing.

You will be working with the latest technologies, using agile methodologies, in order to continue this company's growth.

The client covers all asset classes, and therefore whilst previous financial experience is not required, an interest and drive to learn about finance is a prerequisite!

For those without financial experience you will be offered a fantastic training scheme, made up of both on and off the job training.

Do you have these skills?

- This position requires candidates with excellent server side Java knowledge. You should have solid commercial exposure to J2SE (2+ years). Exposure to other programming languages will also be beneficial for this position.

- You should have experience with an RDBMS e.g. Oracle/Sybase/DB2 and have a good understanding of the overall architecture of systems that you have worked on.

- An interest in platform level technologies would also be well-suited to this role, as this company is currently working onGreenfieldprojects within this space.

E.g. APOs, large codebases: Web Services, SOAP, REST, API design, enterprise integration patterns, messaging technologies (JMS, MQ).

- A keen interest, and ideally exposure, to agile methodologies is necessary for this position - TDD / BDD, automated builds, continuous integration, agile test frameworks, code quality metrics…

- You should also have experience working with a high-performing team, and be able to demonstrate your ability to work well with others in a confident and pragmatic manner.

- You should have a 2:1/1st (or equivalent) degree from a reputable university, in a relevant subject e.g. Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics… to apply.

If you are a strong developer that seeks to take on a progressive learning curve, and you have a passion for technology and finance, then this will be a fantastic next step in your career! You'll be offered multiple opportunities for career progression - whether you seek the managerial or the technical route!

To apply for this position please send your CV (in Word Doc format) to Lydia Ashall including a statement of why you feel you would be a strong fit for this job.

I look forward to hearing from you!
