Our practices provide traditional GP and nurse-led services for both registered and non-registered patients. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Whitehall Medical Practice and Shropshire Urgent Care Centre in Shrewsbury as an HCA. The successful candidate will have experience in phlebotomy, dressings etc. The role details are: HCA working at the Practice with our registered patients carrying out phlebotomy, dressings, ECGs and health assessments. Also one weekend per month you will be running the dressing clinics at the Urgent Care Centre. The role also includes some administrative duties, such as stock control and ordering, audits etc.

Annual salary of up to £18500 (pro rata)
NHS Pension
15 hours per week – This will include working one weekend per month and some bank holidays
23 days annual leave pro rata
Role available from 20 February 2018
Up to 50 hours free CPD which can be achieved online via Skills4Health

Whitehall Medical Practice is a small friendly practice with currently around 3250 patients and growing. We offer a variety of services to our patients including the NHS health checks, BP monitoring and phlebotomy. It is a small, friendly team made up of GPs, ANP, Practice nurse and HCA, alongside the administrative team. We use the EMIS Web computer system. The Urgent Care centre is a walk in service provided at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.

You’ll be a motivated team-player with a passion for delivering excellent patient care. Essential skills required are phlebotomy and dressing / wound care. You will also have experience of working in a primary care setting and be able to carry out health assessments and ECGs. Ideally you will be qualified in immunisations (under PSD) and carrying out smoking cessation help 2 quit and weight loss clinics help2 slim. Whatever stage you’re at in your career, we’ll provide you with the high quality support you need to continue developing your skills, spend quality time with your patients and make a real difference to people’s lives whilst enjoying job satisfaction. Our clinicians benefit from up to 50 hours free CPD (achieved online via Skills For Health) to assist with your mandatory training requirements.
