An exciting new career opportunity for experienced carersThe role of Care Home Assistant Practitioner – or CHAP – is an important position within our care homes. It allows people with existing supervisory experience with an NVQ level 3 in Health and Social care within a care environment to take on a higher level of responsibility and reward. Our CHAPs combine their caring activities with an extended range of clinical skills, such as administering medication and delivering minor wound care. CHAPs always have the support of the Registered Nurses in our homes.We’ll support you every step of the way Four Seasons offers the most effective CHAPs training course in our industry – an intensive programme of learning, most of it hands-on in a busy care home environment. At every stage you’ll be supported and mentored by a Registered Nurse so that you quickly develop not only new clinical skills but also the confidence to use those skills in a leadership role. You’ll also enjoy professional recognition which can open up future pathways into Nursing or Home Management.The kind of person we’re looking forYou’ll have a minimum 12 months’ carer experience, ideally in a supervisory position, in an adult care home or possibly within the NHS – with at least an NVQ 2 in Health and Social care and working towards Level 3. Very importantly you’ll be keen to develop your career as a carer. You’ll also be driven and not afraid of a challenge, with a good communication style that will allow you to lead other team members and work effectively alongside our nurses.You'll find The Oaks in Balderton, Nottinghamshire. We provide dedicated nursing and residential care for the frail and elderly based on their individual needs; to us, it's all about a sense of family.For some residents we provide specialist nursing support, while others just need a little assistance with everyday living. Some stay with us permanently, others for shorter periods of time. We're also delighted to provide respite care to give home carers a much-needed break.We have beautiful communal rooms - one offers the buzz of conversation; the other is perfectly quiet for a good read or shared time with family and friends.Bedrooms are light and bright. Many have en-suites and views over our lovingly tended gardens which are filled with colour and fragrance in the warmer months.
