Hertfordshire Low Secure Unit-Beech ward are committed to developing its staff with leadership potential. Due to promotion, the service now has a new vacancy for a Charge Nurse. For staff who meet the person specification, this is now an exciting time to consider applying for the post. The post holder will be required to provide comprehensive, professional, effective leadership, Clinical advice and expertise, and managerial support to the Inpatient Area under the direction of the Team Leader.You will be responsible for the day to day running of an identified clinical area. You will be expected to assist the Ward Manger in maintaining effective team working processes, including outcome measures which include Key Performance Indicators (PDP, Attendance Management and e-rostering). There is also an expectation to deputise for the Team Leader in their absence.The successful candidate must display a considerable degree of initiative, possess mature judgment and maintain a calm, friendly and efficient manner when dealing with service users, their relatives, colleagues and visitors. You should be able to demonstrate sensitivity towards those suffering from Mental Health problems, be non-judgemental in your approach to people who have Mental Health illness , have a good understanding of relational security, and be preapred to model and promote the Trust Values.The post holder will be required to work independently using initiative, and applying a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism to their work. They must be able to demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills, manage competing demands and organise your own work in meeting deadlines in order for the smooth running of the ward area. Car driver essential, or access to a car (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010 which prevents you from driving).
