An exciting new career opportunity for experienced carersThe role of Care Home Assistant Practitioner – or CHAP – is an important position within our care homes. It allows people with existing supervisory experience with an NVQ level 3 in Health and Social care within a care environment to take on a higher level of responsibility and reward. Our CHAPs combine their caring activities with an extended range of clinical skills, such as administering medication and delivering minor wound care. CHAPs always have the support of the Registered Nurses in our homes.We’ll support you every step of the way Four Seasons offers the most effective CHAPs training course in our industry – an intensive programme of learning, most of it hands-on in a busy care home environment. At every stage you’ll be supported and mentored by a Registered Nurse so that you quickly develop not only new clinical skills but also the confidence to use those skills in a leadership role. You’ll also enjoy professional recognition which can open up future pathways into Nursing or Home Management.The kind of person we’re looking forYou’ll have a minimum 12 months’ carer experience, ideally in a supervisory position, in an adult care home or possibly within the NHS – with at least an NVQ 2 in Health and Social care and working towards Level 3. Very importantly you’ll be keen to develop your career as a carer. You’ll also be driven and not afraid of a challenge, with a good communication style that will allow you to lead other team members and work effectively alongside our nurses.You'll find Churchfield Care Home in the village of Rainworth, Nottinghamshire, to the west of Mansfield.Here our highly trained team works very hard to make everyone feel at home.We provide supported residential care, specialist 24-hour nursing, and residential assistance for people who are physically disabled.For our specialist service to people with dementia and memory loss, we are PEARL accredited. We also offer short respite breaks, and end-of-life nursing.Our property is hidden away in a lovely rural location, with a tranquil environment, and plenty of wildlife and protected trees.It's a listed building with lovely original features, and has been thoughtfully converted to cater for the needs of all people living here.Our attractive lawned garden and patio areas are popular places for residents and their families to sit back and relax, while the green fingered among them love to help keep it beautiful.Indoors there's a spacious TV lounge overlooking the garden, and areas for quiet relaxation. All bedrooms are well equipped, clean and, comfortable; some have en-suites, too.
