Business Systems Analyst
City of London

You will be working within a leading global specialty insurer based in The City of London. Company's main focus is underwriting complex risks including a broad class of commercial specialty insurance.
As a Business Systems Analyst, you will be providing expertise in process and problem analysis, requirements capture and solutions design to support company in reaching its strategic goals.


• Process Re-engineering, Process Improvement and process mapping
• Knowledge of Insurance
• High level of problem-solving, analytical & numerical skills

o Benefits Identification & Approach
o Issues & Risks Identification & Approach
• Workshop Setup & Results analysis
• Experience working on Finance systems and data warehouse projects
• Relationship Management and Stakeholder Management
• Excellent communication skills at all levels including strong business writing skills
• Effective planning and organisation skills, being able to meet tight deadlines
• Good IT skills including MS Excel & PowerPoint


• Document and analyse current and future state of business process requirements
• Recognise opportunities for business improvements and take action to exploit them.
• Record any system issues, process, operational or organisational change recommendations for acceptance by the business and escalation to appropriate change agents
• Present & validate with the business the recommended process improvements
• Develop wireframes or proof of concepts where necessary
• Help the business to articulate what the successful design will do and what it will achieve
• Assist in the development of Organisation Change (People, Process & Systems) from Target Operational Models
• Take agreed process changes forward and help develop implementation approach, test approach, including documentation. Monitor changes against quality criteria.
• Provide business with effective support and advice /expertise in relation to operational changes to be used/implemented, including updated procedures and User Guides
• Maintain quality of design and deliverables whilst adhering to budget and time constraints
• Analyse data to identify trends and maintain data quality.
• Communicate effectively with all levels of management and in public forums


• Become familiar with and apply LEAN Six Sigma methodologies.
• Become familiar with and apply the principles of BPM notation and BPM modelling tool.
• Liaise with the business, and gain an understanding of their area
• Develop the capability to analyse existing maps, data and statistics
• Make recommendations to the wider teams based on own analysis
• Be able to work independently and with third-party suppliers
• Deliver designs that optimised use of people, processes and systems.
• Ability to support the development of Business Cases with agreed benefits and costs
