Infrastructure support team leader – Market leading IT service provider – Milton Keynes. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proven Infrastructure engineer – with noteworthy experience in customer technical infrastructure support– to work for ourselves, one of the country’s leading IT service providers, with very strong ties to high-profile organisations across a wide range of sectors, including, most notably, Law and Finance. The role is based at our Milton Keynes office.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Our expanding infrastructure support services means we are looking to fill a new role of Infrastructure Team Leader with specific responsibilities in customer technical Infrastructure support.

JOB DESCRIPTION

An experienced Infrastructure specialist who will support and develop customer technical infrastructure, as well as providing leadership to a small team of infrastructure engineers. Person will be provide support and technical escalation for all backend infrastructure (virtualisation platform, physical servers, logical servers, storage, networks, firewalls, desktop and mobile platforms). The role will also involve a significant amount of project work.

The role will suit someone who has the skills and ambition to progress into a position of real responsibility with a desire to learn and apply new skills, particularly in the cloud computing space.

HOURS OF WORK

The hours of Service will be 8 hours (7 working, 1 hour for lunch) and will typically be between 07:00 and 19:00.There may be a need to work beyond these times on rare occasions and therefore the candidate will need to be flexible with their working hours at times.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Technical requirements/skills:

•Citrix products such as XenApp and XenDesktop

•VMware ESX 5.0 and above

•Shared storage (any platform)

•Windows Server 2012 / 2016

•Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 desktop

•Excellent TCP/IP networking

Desirable technical skills:

•Office 365

•Network switching and routing

•Firewalls and security

Non- technical requirements/skills:

•Strong attention to detail, focus on quality

•Strong problem solving capabilities

•Ability to work within a team structure but be the main go-to person for technical issues

•Ability to deliver project work to a high standard and within agreed timescales
