Serco Leisure have a rare opportunity to join our Technical Team on our Bolton contract.

The Technical Team has a shared vision to ensure that the Leisure Centres are maintained to an excellent standard. In order for that to happen you will be tasked with maintaining the building on a planned preventative and reactive basis. To include building fabric and M&E. You will be responsible for arranging, assisting and monitoring any contractors required on site. You will be required to undertake any further duties or training as requested by the Project and Technical Manager.

Main Tasks relevant to the post:

To consistently ensure (and record as appropriate) that swimming pool water quality is maintained to those standards set by the company.

To consistently ensure that building service systems, associated items of plant, equipment and control systems are set and operated to an optimum to facilitate (for example, not exhaustive);

  • Excellent customer comfort levels.
  • A match with the leisure centre’s published customer activity programme.
  • Longevity of asset condition and operational availability.
  • Energy consumption is restricted to an absolute minimum and is without waste.

To consistently ensure (and record as appropriate) that all Hot and Cold Domestic Water in Tanks, at outlets, in heating systems etc are monitored and that shower head cleaning is undertaken in line with, the L8 Risk Assessment and Company guidelines.

To consistently ensure that building finishes, fixtures, fittings, equipment, fixed furniture and the like are duly maintained and consistently presented to our customers and staff alike, in a manner that facilitates (for example, not exhaustive);

  • Excellent safety standards (as far as is reasonably practicable).
  • Excellent security standards, particularly in respect to changing area clothes locker provisions.
  • Excellent customer comfort levels.
  • Excellent customer perception of quality standards.
  • Longevity of asset condition and operational availability.

The successful Technician must have:

  • A full Driving Licence as a Works Van is supplied with the post
  • Previous experience working within a technical environment

The successful Technician will ideally have:

  • Previous experience working in a Swimming Pool environment (Ideally including Pool Plant Operation and water testing)
  • Previous experience of Legionella and Domestic Water Management (L8)
  • Experience of reactive works to Pool Plant, HVAC, Mechanical & Electrical systems
  • Multi-skilled with basic Plumbing, Carpentry and Electrical skills
  • Ability to maintain accurate records (Both Written & Electronic)
  • Knowledge of Planned Preventative Maintenance programmes
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation
  • You may be required to work outside of normal working hours and respond to out of hour’s emergencies for which overtime will be paid
