Senior Pharmacy TechnicianSouthamptonFull Time- PermanentSalary depending on experienceI am currently supporting one of my excellent Private Hospitals in Southampton to recruit for a senior pharmacy technician. The hospital is a state of the art setting with brand new robotic technology within their newest theatre. They are able to offer very complex procedures and have a critical care department. Specialties include orthopaedic, spinal and cardiac surgery, cardiology, neurosurgery, dermatology, ear nose and throat, ophthalmology, urology, cosmetic and bariatric surgery.They have an excellent diagnostic imaging department with CT, MRI, X-ray and ultrasound facilities. Interventional procedures are performed in our catheter lab for cardiology and radiology which requires anaesthetic support. The oncology department, was built in 2010 and offers clean, light and modern facilities in which to have cancer treatment; including new radiotherapy facilities improving further the comprehensive cancer services available here.Our client is recruiting for a Senior Pharmacy Technician who is passionate about good quality patient focused care, to join their friendly outpatient dispensary team. If you are a qualified Pharmacy technician, hardworking and enthusiastic, with high expectations for both yourself and the quality of services, we look forward to hearing from you.The main responsibility is to provide an exemplary management of patient centered pharmacy technical services, with regards to outpatient, inpatient and TTO medication management needs. This will include ensuring all Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacy Assistants are:Supported in working to national standards within the pharmacy department and other areas of the hospital that stock medicinesWorking within own level of competence and in accordance with current legislationFollowing professional and ethical standardsUpholding policies and proceduresTo assist in the training of pharmacists, technicians and pharmacy assistants in the technical aspects of the dispensing service.Contributing to the safe and effective use of medicines, ensuring cost efficiencyLiaising as appropriate with all Pharmacy staff, all healthcare professionals' (especially medical and nursing staff) patients and their carersto act in the capacity of Pharmacy Technician according to pharmacy needsThe post holder will act as an NVQ assessor and trainer of Assistant Technical Officers (ATOs) and rotational technicians where appropriateTo ensure the quality and accuracy of drug stock levels and information on the pharmacy JAC computer system.To assist with the audit and review of the service provided against set standards.The position is full time (37.5 hours per week) and will work on a rota system to fit the pharmacy opening hours.It is essential that the post holder is a Registered Pharmacy Technician with GPhC and have an NVQ level 3 Diploma in Pharmacy Services. An accredited pharmacy technician checking qualification is highly desirable.Experience of working in a pharmaceutical department is essential. Experience working within a private hospital is highly advantageous for this role.We are looking for someone with great leadership and delegation skills, who is able to prioritise their workload and is organised.
