Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated nurse with excellent clinical, organizational and communication skills, to join our friendly and dynamic Children’s Haematology Service at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
We are looking for a motivated and adaptable Children’s nurse, who is looking to progress and expand their knowledge and skills within a dedicated and supportive team of professionals.
The post holder will be in the unique position to work within, and provide invaluable support to, the Multi-Disciplinary Teams within our Children’s Haematology Team. This role is predominantly Monday to Friday and is supported by both the Senior Team within Children’s services and the Trust Site Team.
The Children’s Haematology service at Imperial is one of the largest in the country and encompasses the largest Blood and Marrow Transplant unit for non-malignant haematological disorders in the UK, one of the largest paediatric units overall, conducting close to 40 allografts a year, and pioneering worldwide the use of alternative donors. We specialise in aplastic anaemia, inherited bone marrow failure syndromes, sickle cell disease, thalassemia and other red cell disorders. The service constitutes the specialist centre for the Imperial College Red Cell Network offering comprehensive care for children with haemoglobinopathies and red cell disorders for Northwest London, the Thames Valley and the Luton area, to which we provide outreach clinics.
Opportunities for development and skill acquisition include stem cell infusion, apheresis and chemotherapy in addition to pre and post non-malignant Blood and Marrow Transplant care.
