Dog Training Coordinator (Puppy)
Canine Partners is an assistance dog charity which transforms the lives of disabled people through partnership with our specially trained assistance dogs. Our assistance dogs are trained to meet the needs of individuals with even the most complex physical disabilities. We help adults who have a physical disability or condition that affects their daily life and limits their independence.
We have been training amazing assistance dogs since 1990, and have matched those dogs with over 700 people. Across the UK today we now have 400 active partnerships – that’s 400 dogs out there helping disabled people lead a life of greater independence
To help us create these amazing partnerships, we need amazing people. We have an exciting opportunity to join the Puppy Training Department as a Puppy Trainer. This important role will be homebased working within a defined geographical location in the Surrey area in order to visit our puppies in the region.

Location: Surrey (Homebased)
Contract type: Part Time
Hours: 30 hours/ 4 days per week
Salary: £17,438 to £21,798 FTE per annum (depending on experience)

About the Role:
We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our Puppy Training Department as a Puppy Trainer. This important role will be homebased working within a defined geographical location in the Surrey area (please see the map on our website) in order to visit our puppies in the region. You will be responsible for co-ordinating and monitoring the progress of the puppies to ensure they receive the highest standard of socialisation and early training in order to maximise their chances of becoming qualified working Canine Partner. This is an exciting opportunity to develop our current satellite in the Surrey area.
In this interesting and rewarding role you will be responsible for providing on-going training, support and advice to volunteer Puppy Parents, carrying out home visits and classes for Puppy Parents and recruiting and supporting Puppy Parents.
The ideal candidate will have experience of training puppies and demonstrable dog training knowledge and skills. You will have a working knowledge of the assessment of puppy and dog behaviour and traits as well as coaching and training skills.
Additionally, you will have a current UK driving licence or be able to provide transport. Ideally you will be located within the Surrey area.
