Position: Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Clerk
Job Type: Perm/Full time
Hours: Mon – Fri 9am – 5pm
Location: Houghton Regis
Salary: £18000 - £19000

Job Purpose:

The Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Clerk will be responsible for invoice entry of both Suppliers and Customers for UK and Ireland, staff expenses, reviewing aged creditors and assisting/covering all business streams as and when required.

Key Duties and responsibilities:

• Purchase Order processing
• Investigating differences and requesting Credit Notes from Suppliers
• Reviewing, analysing and coding employee expenses
• Maintaining log of Supplier and Customer invoices
• Obtaining timely authorisation for supplier invoices
• Inputting invoices onto supplier account
• Print a payment schedule from the various systems and collate the Supplier invoices and statements for mid-month and month-end payment runs
• Ensure currency is available to pay foreign suppliers
• Maintain record for any unapplied payments
• Obtain and reconcile Supplier statements by the 10th day of the following month
• Manage and chase all queries within 10 days of supplier statement reconciliations being performed
• Investigate reasons for any debt balances on Accounts Payable ledgers
• Reconcile intercompany accounts payable and receivable balances
• Prepare accruals
• Close and open month end period
• Produce month end customer account statements


• Previous Finance/Accounting experience preferred but not essential
• Excellent written and spoken English
• UK Requirements: Eligibility to work in the UK
• Driving Licence: Preferred to hold a valid UK drivers licence
• IT: Microsoft Office skills namely Excel, Outlook, Word
