Finance Assistant - Consumer Membership Charity - £27k
A leading consumer rights focused membership charity based in central/north London is looking for a skilled Finance Assistant to support the Finance and Project Manager in the day-to-day running of the Finance department. The role will involve ensuring records are accurate and kept up to date, and that all financial transactions are recorded in addition to maintaining the ledgers on the SUN accounting system. Duties include: -Entering purchase invoices on Sun: obtain coding and approval, set up new supplier accounts.-Supplier payment runs once a week. Send payment confirmation emails to payees-Assist in preparation of outgoing fee invoices, post into Sun-Issue receipts for member payments using Salesforce system-Ensure that expenses claimed are supported by receipts and approved and posted into Sun -Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for all Bank accounts held-Issue multi-currency cash advances to staff on travelling abroad for meetings-Maintain fixed asset register-Issue fixed asset identification labels for all new fixed asset purchases-Prepare monthly project reports and distribute to Project holders-Process payment of grants to members as required-Enter journals for day to day financial transactions-Close current period on SUN on completion of month end accounts and open new period for new month-Enter budget forecast onto SUN Candidate requirements: -Prior experience in the accounts department of a small organisation - charity experience useful-Previous experience in running purchase ledger-Prior use of Sun accounting software (advantageous but not essential)-Previous exposure to foreign exchange an advantage-Book-keeping qualification an advantage (eg.
