Senior Pharmacist – Electronic Prescribing (Band 7) Cross-site at QEH and UHL

Base site UHL - 1 year fixed-term contract

The Trust is currently undertaking a major project to implement Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (EPMA) using Cerner Millennium across two hospital sites, the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich and University Hospital in Lewisham. The project is a joint initiative between Pharmacy and IT, being led by the Lead Pharmacist for Electronic Prescribing.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual to join the Electronic Prescribing team and be involved in a challenging and rewarding project that will change the way that healthcare professionals work on the wards and in the pharmacy department.

Applicants should have a broad clinical pharmacy background and a desire to promote new ways of working across the Trust. An interest in and enthusiasm for working with IT are essential. Successful candidates will be expected to work closely with multidisciplinary teams and help integrate the use of technology into clinical practice. The post holder will be expected to support the development, planning, implementation and on-going management of the system including developing policies and procedures to ensure safe medication practices. Excellent communication skills are required as the successful applicant will be required to provide group training to medical, nursing and pharmacy staff and attend multidisciplinary meetings. Previous experience of electronic prescribing would be valuable but is not essential.
