We are recruiting for a Care Manager within our Saffron Walden Branch to provide a high quality Homecare services that supports the rights of our clients to live the lives they choose within their own homes.

The Care Manager will efficiently manage the day to day running of the business. Allocate resources and monitor performance to deliver high quality Homecare to customers within budget. Manage all aspects of the staff team and provide sound leadership to ensure staff are clear about their respective duties and responsibilities and have the support they need to carry out their roles safely.



Job Purpose:

It is the purpose of Manorcourt Homecare and its' employees to provide a professional temporary staff service, efficiently and effectively. This will primarily involve supplying temporary staff a) when Local Authority resources do not meet demand, b) when a specialist service is required or c) when a customer does not qualify for financial assistance from Social Services (i.e. private clients).



Therefore, it is imperative that our primary purpose must be to provide experienced staff, in accordance with the practices and procedures of local authorities, to step into the working environment and work as part of a team providing the highest possible level of care.



Job Purpose:


Liaise with Social Services at all levels regarding new clients, existing clients, review meetings and also deal with day to day enquiries.
To liaise with Service Users families and/or advocates as and when necessary.
Ensure that reports, information and statistical figures can be provided on request, in an easy to understand format, as per contracts.
Ensure that all staff members are kept motivated and informed of all developments, providing effective communication.
Ensure welfare issues have been dealt with accordingly and recorded with details of actions required.
Ensure that all concerns regarding the delivery of care and Service Users health are dealt with appropriately.
Adhere to contract compliance
Ensure that employees are working to the highest possible standards and are aware, understand, adhere and work to Manorcourt Homecare policies and procedures, in particular health and safety, quality assurance and equal opportunities and in accordance with CQC compliance and existing local authority contracts.
To ensure that spot checks, monitoring visits, contract compliance, health and safety, customer satisfaction, staff appraisals and supervision (care and internal) have been carried out satisfactory ensuring all expected duties have been carried out and that the Service Users are satisfied with their service.
To ensure that review meetings, risk assessments and new assessments are carried out appropriately.
To ensure that cover is supplied and suitable replacement can be arranged when Carers/ Internal staff are on holiday of sick, recording all outcomes.
Responsible for dealing with complaints and compliments in line with documented procedures.
To deal with disciplinary matters, fairly and confidentially.
Deal with emergencies, which may arise with a Service User and/or in a personal capacity.
Be directly responsible for the day to day smooth running and organisation of the Home Care Department. This will include ensuring efficient and equal delegation of tasks to be carried out, and managing the care team.
General management of the office, solving problems and difficult situations, investigating and dealing with all complaints, disciplining temporary workers as and when necessary and motivating, encouraging and supporting all staff.
Endorse and implement any and all senior management requests and directives.
Oversee and supervise the co-ordination of home care maximising resources, acting with compassion, patience and understanding at all times. It is vital to encourage team work within the office, and to keep morale and standards to a satisfactory level.
Introduction of any new employees to the office including induction, training etc.
Monitoring of holidays, sickness and punctuality, expenses, discipline and grievances, and appraisals.
Evaluate all temporary workers suitability for employment i.e. sufficient experience, references, and ensuring any criminal convictions are not detrimental to the position for which they are applying.
Attend review meetings, assessments, forums and other management meetings.
Schedule regular staff meetings, Internal and Care Staff.
Be responsible for any confidential letters, reports and filing if needed.
Make courtesy, canvass, and public relations calls as and when required.
Provide references both verbally and written for any and all temporary workers.
Be aware of all feedback and comments from both Service Users and temporary workers and report any and all feedback to the relevant department.
Any request for services that is not fulfilled for any reason must be entered into the report book, and must be brought to the attention of Management. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action.
Support other departments as and when required. It is vital that you work as part of a team and support both offices together to make sure that we are providing a safe service.
To take and cover on call if needed to cover holidays and sickness.
